November Update

As I've probably mentioned before, writing is lonely work. As I've also probably mentioned before, it takes a lot more time and effort to write a novel than it does to write, arrange, rehearse and record an album. The songs for the album have been done for months. The novel is just approaching the 1/3 mark.

The good news is that it really does seem to be working this time around, so I'm confident I'll actually be able to finish it. I'm pushing for a completed first draft by mid-April, which means I'll need to double my efforts from now until then. The novel is by far the biggest reason for my lack of frequent updates here. I don't expect that change anytime soon, my relative flurry of blogging over the past few days notwithstanding.

Music is still on indefinite hold. There are some unpleasant business issues to be cleared up, and the matter of deciding once and for all if I really want to try to make yet another record on a fraction of a shoestring budget. Right now I have enough going on in other arenas that I'm a bit less inclined to forge ahead with the album. I'll update if and when anything changes.

Chris Barrows of the Pink Lincolns was good enough to send me some art supplies in an effort to get me back to learning how to paint. Chris is the one who got me started on the idea of the painting thing in the first place and he's not letting up. Now that I have some art supplies I'm really starting to feel pressure to deliver. Time to get the fruit bowl out I guess.

A few more irons are in the fire as well, most of which I can't talk about yet, but I'll update as things come together and/or fall apart.
