Domestic chores have been keeping me from the weblog but I was able to make enough time to finish my bedroom demos (it took 30 hours all told, just to make some crappy sounding recordings of me playing guitar and singing, and occasionally pounding away on the keyboard). This morning I'm trying to complete the third of my first three reviews of "Near-Perfect Records" - a planned series that is intended to go on indefinitely but which, knowing me, will probably end after the third installment.
The chaos on the domestic front really is indescribable. Suffice it to say that I will without any question at all be getting little if any creative work done until around July. I'm not happy about it but that's the way it is. With any luck at all, come July I'll be able to get back to work with a renewed vigor, causing cups to runneth over and whatnot.
In the meantime and in addition to the other stuff I am, as always, handcuffed to the businesses known as my ex-bands. I'm just now finishing up work on the first Riverdales album for re-release on Asian Man. The re-release of "Phase Three" will take a bit longer. But when Phase Three is re-released, we'll need new cover art. Since we can't actually afford to pay for it, I'm thinking about asking Mike at Asian Man to run a contest or something. If so, I'll mention something here. Come to think of it, we need a new t-shirt design or two for Screeching Weasel. Hmmm. Maybe I'll ask Little Type to put something up at the site...
Keep your eyeballs peeled for the record reviews - I'll space 'em out pretty good just to make up for the lack of updates.
