Rising from the ashes of the late lamented Shocking Images comes a kick ass mag called Film Fanaddict. Mark Jason Murray and a solid bunch of contributors cover all the weird, gory, and/or bizarre movies that guys like Ebert don't. From Murray's bio:
Mark Jason Murray has been an obsessed film fanaddict for nearly twenty five years. After self-publishing the fanzine, SHOCKING IMAGES in the mid-90's, a full service and highly acclaimed mail order company was operated under the same name from 1996 to 2002. In late 2004, the name SHOCKING IMAGES was retired and its website activities combined with that of FILM FANADDICT. Murray has also been involved in the creation of two DVD companies (Shriek Show and Ryko DVD) as a consultant and has written liner notes/bios for several DVD releases. Outside of FILM FANADDICT, Murray is currently researching and writing a biography on influential comedian Rudy Ray Moore (aka Dolemite). He recently coordinated the CD release of the DOLEMITE soundtrack, providing materials and wrote the booklet’s liner notes.
